Our group equipment classes offer a flowing and challenging workout for you to learn the Pilates method. Our studio offers Pilates apparatus for groups including: Chairs, Reformers, Small Barrels, Spine Correctors, magic circles, poles, hand weights, foam rollers, balls, bands, and other small props.  Each group equipment class is limited to four or five participants. This ensures we maintain a superior quality of instruction as you receive individualized attention in an intimate group setting that fosters community and individual growth. Classes will challenge your body awareness, flexibility, strength, and mental acuity that complements other exercise modalities.  Specifically, we cover the key six principles of the Pilates method of movement including: centering, concentration, control, precision, fluidity, and breath. Our Saturday classes are an excellent way to try different styles of teaching as instructors are scheduled on rotation.

You must pre-register for group equipment classes to ensure enough space is available for you at least 24 hours before the start of class.  Drop-ins not allowed! Late entries for sessions in progress after 10 minutes from start time should expect to forfeit their reservation.

Class Descriptions:

*Flow/Intermediate
This class is intended for someone who has attended at least 15 classesand/or has been cleared by an instructor, who is comfortable on Pilates equipment, with Pilates verbal cuing, has a strong box awareness, and has an understanding of "two-way stretch from a strong center" as we work expanding to multiple directional oppositional forces. This class also primarily focuses on the transitions between the exercises. We use that concept to challenge focus of movement using flexion, extension, side bending, rotation, correct alignment.

*Foundational/Basic & Progressions
This class is intended for someone who has already completed our Introductory Special and/or is NOT NEW to Pilates equipment and Pilates verbal cuing. We focus on the foundations of how to develop a strong box awareness to prepare bodies for advanced beginner exercises. In some classes we may introduce intermediate level exercises depending upon enrollment. Movement of the body includes flexion, extension, and side bending all with correct alignment. (Please note that introduction of rotation begins with intermediate level exercises.) Some classes may introduce the concept of "two-way stretch from a strong center" defined as movement from a strong center against this two-way stretch expanding to multiple directional oppositional forces.

*Open Level
This class is intended for someone who has already completed our Introductory Special and/or is NOT NEW to Pilates equipment and Pilates verbal cuing. Most of these classes held during the week are attended by clients who return year after year and keep up with their Pilates practice with us, at home, and even when traveling. We focus on developing strong box awareness to prepare bodies for advanced beginner exercises, intermediate level exercises, and sometimes an introduction to advanced level exercises depending upon enrollment. With these classes you can expect to move the body using flexion, extension, side bending, and rotation all with correct alignment. Some classes may build upon the concept of "two-way stretch from a strong center."
